Our Ethos

Clinical Excellence Meets Lived Experience

Empowering Your Unique Brain

Built on Lived Experience

We don't just study neurodiversity; we live it. Our practice is built on a bedrock of neuro-affirming care, with a team comprised of clinicians who are either neurodivergent themselves or deeply connected to someone who is. We understand the "internal weather" of ADHD and Autism firsthand, ensuring you are truly seen, not just "treated."

A Century of Clinical Mastery

Passion fuels us, but expertise guides us. Led by Ebony Anderson and Dr. Chris Helms—each with over 30 years of experience—our team offers more than a century of combined knowledge. As Nurse Practitioners and PhD-level experts, we bridge the gap between complex psychiatry and compassionate, functional health.

The Neuro-Hormonal Specialty

We are pioneers in the high-stakes intersection of ADHD, Perimenopause, and PMDD. We recognize that your brain and your biology are intrinsically linked. Our specialised focus on hormonal transitions ensures that women and gender-diverse individuals receive the targeted support they need when their "internal operating system" shifts.

Strengths-Based Collaboration

We reject the "one-size-fits-all" deficit model. We partner with you to amplify your unique strengths—your neurodivergent superpowers—and shape environments where your specific brain can thrive. We are here to bolster your self-discovery and help you create the life you desire, not just manage symptoms.

Meet Your Nurse Practitioner: The Best of Both Worlds

A Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a highly experienced clinician who has reached the highest level of nursing expertise. Think of an NP as the perfect bridge between the deep empathy of nursing and the advanced diagnostic power of medicine.

What can a Nurse Practitioner do?

In Australia, a Nurse Practitioner is a legally authorized, autonomous provider who can:

  • Diagnose complex conditions like ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, and PMDD.
  • Prescribe medications and manage your treatment plan long-term.
  • Order blood tests, scans, and medical referrals.
  • Provide Medicare-rebated consultations.

The Ninja Difference

While a psychiatrist focuses primarily on psychiatric diagnosis and a GP on physical diagnosis, a Nurse Practitioner considers the whole person. Ebony and Chris' backgrounds are rooted in nursing; they don't just see a "case"—they see a human being. They combine 30+ years of clinical skills with a holistic lens that considers your gut health, nutritional status, physical symptoms, hormones, family history, and your neurodivergent strengths.

In short: You get the diagnostic authority you need, delivered with the authentic, lived-experience support you deserve.

Your Assessment Pathway

A clear, structured journey designed to give you clarity and support at every step.

ADHD 1 – Initial Assessment

A comprehensive review of ADHD symptoms, developmental history, school reports, and psychometric tests with a clinician. For adolescents (13–17), additional psychometric testing, parent questionnaires, and teacher inputs are evaluated to ensure a thorough understanding.

01

ADHD 2 – Results & Pathway

A consultation with a Nurse Practitioner to review assessment results, discuss goals, and plan next steps. Note: New patients must attend this appointment in person at our clinic.

02

ADHD 3 – Mental Health Evaluation

A formal Mental Health Evaluation to confirm if the origin of your symptoms is neurodevelopmental or better explained by another disorder. Includes a summary, recommendations, and specialist referral if indicated. Optional detailed diagnostic reports are available. *Must complete ADHD 2 Prior to booking this appointment*

03

ADHD 4 - Follow Up

4-6 weeks after treatment initiation, we review your response to ensure your care plan is precisely optimized. This session bridges the gap between medical management and your transition into neuro-affirming lifestyle strategies. *This appointment is not an ongoing follow-up and can only be booked once*

What is a neurodiversity clinic?
A neurodiversity clinic is a specialized healthcare practice that embraces neurodivergent conditions like ADHD and Autism as natural variations in the human brain, rather than deficits to be cured. We focus on providing strengths-based assessments, tailored support, and practical strategies that work with your unique operating system.

In-person with Nurse PractitionerTelehealth with Nurse Practitioner
Do you offer in-person appointments?
Yes. All services provided by Nurse Practitioners are offered in-person.
How can a formal ADHD diagnosis help me?
A formal diagnosis can provide clarity, open up access to tailored support, and help with workplace, school, or family accommodations. It's the first step toward finding strategies that truly work for you.
Do your ADHD assessments include autism screening?
Yes. Our ADHD assessments include an autism screening. If you appear to meet criteria for autism, further assessment will be discussed. Ebony has extensive child and adolescent mental health clinical experience in the US and has diagnosed hundreds of neurodiverse individuals. For clients aged 13 and over, she completes the diagnostic interview and provides the results to collaborating psychiatrists. Please note: we do not provide assessment or diagnostic services for children under 13.
